Kāren Hunter (Dip Facilitation, M Mus, Diploma in Te Reo (Rumaki) Level 5)
Kāren is a Pākeha New Zealander with Cornish, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kāren is a musician, performance artist and musical facilitator and her speciality area is in working with Transformational Festivals and the Performing Arts.
As a Zenergy programme leader Kāren adds an integrated aural dimension. She utilises sound in her contribution, for example with powerful listening, powerful speaking and team building. Karen has assisted on many Master Classes where an integration of left and right brain activities is especially useful.
In Summer 2020 Kāren supported Luminate Festival by co-facilitating their upcoming 4 day full crew meeting Luni-mate. Kāren also offered musical performances, sound journeys and improvised atmospheric music at Evolve Festival, NZ Yoga Festival, Solrise Festival, Earthbeat Festival, Resolution Festival, Unite Festival, Heart Politics and in the Wellness Zone at Splore Festival. Kāren also performed as part of Matiu Te Huki’s band at Voices of Sacred Earth Festival and NZ Spirit Festival.

Kāren facilitates creativity and music workshops throughout New Zealand as well as with individual clients as a coach, music teacher and facilitation supervisor.
Kāren is a student of Te Reo Maori ( the indigenous language of Aotearoa/New Zealand) and includes a variety of waiata Maori ( songs ) in her tool kit.
In addition to delivering quality musical tuition to groups and individuals, and tertiary institutions since 1991, Kāren has:
- Luminate Festival – presented a 3 day version of ‘The Art of Facilitation’ to the management team in 2018, which has assisted Luminate develop their purpose, culture and meeting skills.
- Evolve Festival 2016 – facilitated the core team debrief in the aftermath of a terrible storm which closed the festival early.
- Prana Festival 2015/16 – worked with core teams on meeting skills, and debrief processes. Introduced a facilitated performance space known as ‘The Circle Stage’.
- Has offered music workshops and Zenergy process workshops at Transformational Festivals throughout New Zealand since 2007.
