Wisdom Talks at Resonance - Zenergy's Mining the Gold

Wisdom Talks @ Resonance – A Whole-person Approach to Active Listening

Mining the Gold – Workshop Reflection

At the Resonance Festival held north of Auckland on 20-22 March, we had the privilege of offering our workshop Mining the Gold – A Whole-person Approach to Active Listening with participants who brought their openness, curiosity, and presence to the experience.

Together with Zenergy Trainers Dan Ducker and Caroline Wells, we explored what it means to listen with an intention – not only to the words being spoken, but to the layers beneath them for the often unspoken “gold” that sits under the surface of conversation.

What stood out most was the willingness of participants to be present with each other. As the session unfolded, the quality of listening in the stretch tent shifted – becoming more spacious, more attentive, and more attuned Participants experienced an embodied, whole-person way of listening.

There were moments of what it feels like to be deeply heard and to offer that same quality of attention to others. The process of “mining the gold” proved to be both simple and profound, inviting participants to notice what emerges when their listening and their presence deepens.

We left the session grateful for the engagement of everyone who joined us, and inspired by the reminder that listening itself is a transformative act – one that can strengthen relationships, enriches facilitation practice, and brings more humanity into our everyday lives.
